Bury and Newmarket unite in another Saturday mega session

Scorching weather in Bury St Edmunds this morning which gave a suitably warm welcome to a Liberte Land Rover full of eager Newmarket members.
They were in Bury’s beautiful Nowton Park for the first time and their presence meant the numbers swelled to a super 15.
The last time I was in a group of 15 I was actually on television – an extremely unsuccessful appearance on quiz show 15:1 back in 1998 (I’ll try and find the video somewhere!).
On that day I failed to use my brain, but today I, along with my 14 exercise friends, used every part of our bodies in a gruelling hot workout.
After a mammoth warm up, some fire and manoeuvre drills and a gentle jog we did some great pairs work and then some scintillating team games in which the honours were shared.
Gareth lead us through some arduous abdominal work just as the sun came out which always makes it that little harder.
Still, as our super instructor said at the end of the session: ‘What a way to start the weekend’.
Great to have the Newmarket crew over and here’s hoping you come over to Bury every Saturday.
Well done everyone and Paps, thanks for carrying my slightly smaller bottle of water!
